 Sparnon Wetland Services, Inc. is a woman owned business, established in 1996. Owned and operated by Lisa J. Sparnon, M.S., SPWS, Lisa established her business after working for many years for consulting firms in the fields of land surveying, civil engineering and wetland science in New York, New Jersey and Pennsylvania. Born and raised in NYC, Lisa obtained her Bachelor’s degree in Geology from Hunter College of the City University of New York before relocating to Pike County, Pennsylvania in 1986. She then continued her education at East Stroudsburg University to complete her graduate studies towards a Master’s degree in Biology/Environmental Resource Management, with an emphasis in botany.

Over the last 22 years, Sparnon Wetland Services, Inc. has conducted thousands of site assessments, ranging in size from ¼ acre to 500+ acres, including feasibility studies prior to land purchase, dam removal/upgrade projects, bridge replacement/upgrade projects, utility line projects, lake dredging projects, endangered and threatened species surveys, wetland mitigation projects and stormwater management projects, not including the numerous site assessments previously completed while working for other consulting firms. Her client base is extensive and comprised of numerous repeat customers. She is certified as Professional Wetland Scientist by the Society of Wetland Scientists since 2005, DBE certified by the PA Dept. of Transportation as a woman owned business and certified by the PA Dept. of General Services as a small business under the Commonwealth’s Small Business Contracting Program. Lisa is also a recognized botanist by the PA Dept. of Conservation & Natural Resources and a recognized Phase I Bog Turtle Surveyor by the US Fish & Wildlife Service.

Sparnon Wetland Services, Inc. also has extensive experience working with prime contractors as part of a comprehensive team, providing environmental services to engineering and surveying firms for large projects for States, Municipalities, lake communities or individual land owners. These firms rely on her expertise in all phases of wetland management, including site delineations, wetland encroachment permit approvals, environmental assessments, mitigation design and monitoring, violation resolutions, wetland restoration and rare species surveys. Due to this, Sparnon Wetland Services, Inc. enjoys a good working relationship with many consulting firms, in addition to all the regulatory agencies involved moving a project forward from the design phase to the construction phase.

Sparnon Wetland Services, Inc. enjoys an outstanding reputation for quality of work and extensive knowledge of current Federal, State (NY, NJ & PA), County and local regulations pertaining to wetland science and its effect on land development.
